The Bianca Hennings Blog - A true Tech and Dallas Cowboys Junkie ;)

Just another WordPress weblog

Sure is time for an update I’d say…

March29

I am still struggling with updating this blog on a regular basis. My goal when I started this was to be able to post at least once  a week about relevant and interesting information that pertains to the technology industry, my personal life and of course the Dallas Cowboys. However, since the change in direction that I posted about in January, I have been extremely busy with consulting jobs and researching the possibilities of going back to school and having a complete career path change, but maintaining my consultancy status so that I can continue to “get my fix” in the tech sector. It is such a true passion of mine that I think I’d go a little bananas without it in my life. And of course if the right opportunity came around, I’m not so removed as to say I wouldn’t shelve the school option again :)  Read the rest of this entry »

A New Year, A New Life?

January8

Where do I begin. Let’s see… 15 years ago I met a person who looked at me and said “You’re going to do great things”. I was VERY young and had no idea what he was talking about. He took me under his wing and taught me everything there was to know about telephony (with the exception of my grandfather who worked for AT&T for 42 years and was one of the original official “Telephone Pioneers”). At that time 10-10 dialing was the CRAZE and every sales organizations goal was to get people to switch their long distance service from AT&T to one of MANY companies that popped up post the de-rgulation. He gave me a job. A chance to prove myself, and I’d like to think that I did a very good job in doing so since from that time I have managed to work for the same group of talented engineers, developers and executives until a week ago. During that time I also ventured into other businesses with them which also became successful and built a reputation that I am proud of within the Automotive Aftermarket. That wasn’t easy seeing how I was only from the Telecom and Technology world since as early as I can remember. I still remanin on councils and committees within SEMA and have built life long realtionships there that I am eternally grateful for. And let me tell you, that is ONE fun industry. I’m proud to be a part of it.  Read the rest of this entry »

It’s been too long!

December23

I admit it. Between emails (the 5 accts I check), FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, reading all the blogs I enjoy, the insanity of last minute Christmas preperations the ever so exciting rebranding of PhoneFusions look and feel  and let’s not forget to throw in the Cowboys VICTORY of the Giants (hooray) followed by the horrible defeat by the Ravens (Boooo), that I have been just a tad non comittal to the blog I was once so passionate about starting! So, I apologize. Mainly to myself because I of course am I biggest critic.  Next week we play the Eagles, so I’m going to not say a word and jinx anything as that seems to be my pattern. I will say this, stay tuned to PhoneFusion’s sites b/c the new ones that are coming are definitley MANY steps up and we are extremely excited to bring it to everyone. I cannot wait to hear the reaction of our existing PhoneFusion One customers!

Well, here I will close and say that I will not post until after the holiday’s. I wish EVERYONE a VERY Happy Holiday Season (Merry Christmas) and moreover, let us ALL have a very healty, happy and prosperous 2009.

DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY, STEELERS STUN COWBOYS 20-13 (Courtesy of LoneStarStruck.com)

December9

What started out looking like a major upset win for the Cowboys over the Steelers, turned into a stunning and crushing defeat in the final few minutes of the game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers dealt the Cowboys a jarring defeat by coming back after being down 13-3, and beating Dallas 20-13.

It was another one of those big meaningful games that the Cowboys needed to win, that saw quarterback Tony Romo once again, crack under pressure. His four turnovers proved costly and the multitude of fans who doubt his big game ability continues to grow.

“This one’s on me,” said Romo, who threw three picks and lost a fumble. “As a quarterback, you can’t turn the ball over that many times and expect to win, especially in an environment like this.”

Up until the final minutes of the game, the Cowboys were on cloud nine. Playing without Pro Bowl running Marion Barber who didn’t make the trip, running back Tashard Choice stepped in and gained 88 yards on 23 carries and caught five passes for 78 yards. He looked a little shaky at the start of the game, but once he settled in he played like a man possessed. Jason Witten had six catches for 62 yards and Owens caught three passes for 32 yards and a 12-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Update now avail and PF blog launched

November26

Hi all! Ok - as promised, PhoneFusion released the first update for Fusion Voicemail Plus to the Android Market and in addition launched it’s official blog located at http://blog.phonefusion.com . There is where you can keep up with all the FACTS. The point is to be able to let people know what we’ve been seeing in other blogs and forums, what we’ve been hearing via our feedback and support emails and to let everyone know what we are doing. It’s also the place to clear up and rumors that may be circulating (which are always bound to happen). We’re also starting a video blog on our YouTube Channel so that you can always know what the latest and greatest happenings are! In addition to the video blog, the YouTube channel also has several videos on set up, features, comparisons and many more to come. We are always willing to record videos on the fly based on feedback so if you feel there’s an issue that we should be recording about, don’t hesitate to let us know.

On another note.. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all! Of course I will be eating early so that I can enjoy watching my Cowboys play (and WIN). Family, Food & Football. So much to be thankful for. I hope that everyone has a very safe and happy holiday!

Our app is in the Android Market :)

November25

Yes, yes, yes… in addition to my good mood caused by 2 back to back much needed wins by the Dallas Cowboys, I’m pleased to report that an app PhoneFusion has been working on went live in Android Market today and has been getting very positive reviews.  The app is called Fusion Voicemail Plus and is a true Visual Voicemail application that allows you to see,  listen to and respond (in any order you choose) to voicemails from multiple sources (home, office, cell) all delivered onto ONE device. This latest release is an exciting one in particular for us as it has the latest look and feel whereas our existing Blackberry and Windows Mobile versions do not yet sport the “tech-sexy” feel. Hang tight though, as I’m sure they will. You view the full press release and details here.

Grateful for the win, a bit disappointed in the fans!

October29

Ok - so I’m home in beautiful South Florida from my trip to Dallas where I was HONORED to be 5 rows up in the endzone of Texas Stadium and watching my Cowboys play a game against the buc’s ending in a much needed victory. First, let me state (for those of you who don’t know), I meet with a local fan club here EVERY Sunday @ Hot Shots in Sunrise, FL and on average we have around 80 die hards come out to represent and break bread (and alcohol) together and watch the game. It is like being live at a game. We have bull horns, cowbells, flashing lights, penalty flags, etc. When we make playoffs, the number of attendees usually jumps to around 200. Whatever, we’re used to the band wagoners and they are welcomed. Makes for great pics and we always wnd up recruiting some regulars that come out to support our fan club the following season. Back to my point about my trip to Dallas… Read the rest of this entry »

Even more bad news for Cowboy fans…

October14

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, the whole damned roof may have just caved in and collapsed on the Cowboys’ playoff hopes.

Less than 12 hours after finding out that a broken finger will be sidelining quarterback Tony Romo for about four weeks, the Dallas Cowboys are now reporting that running back Felix Jones had an MRI on Monday, and that the prognosis is he will miss at least a couple of weeks with the strained hamstring he suffered in the third quarter on Sunday.

Todd Archer, is reporting that punter Mat McBriar suffered a fractured right foot when Arizona’s Sean Morey blocked the punt in overtime. He’s expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Additionally, Mickey Spagnola, the beat writer for the Cowboys is reporting the following on his blog…

Terence Newman is out four weeks.
Sam Hurd is out for the rest of the season.
Kyle Kosier might be out at least another week.
Roy Williams might be out another week.
Who knows about Anthony Spencer?
Who knows about Pat Watkins?
Who knows about Flozell Adams?

Lovely. Just lovely.
